Uma Punakha

Uma Punakha Now Open

The 11-room Uma by COMO Punakha was launched in mid September 2012, on a hillside in the lush Punakha Valley with incredible bird’s-eye views across bright green terraced fields and the bending Mo Chu river. These clear blue glacial waters flow downstream towards Punakha Dzong, one of the most important and beautiful religious temples in Bhutan, home to the head Abbott of Bhutan, Je Khempo and 1,000 monks.

Uma Punakha’s 11 rooms include an intimate one-bedroom COMO Villa and a family-friendly two-bedroom COMO Villa. Designed with inspired simplicity and natural light flooded interiors, the styling of Uma Punakha is in line with Uma Paro: over-size beds, wood-burning stoves and calming neutral colour schemes punctuated with traditional hand-painted Bhutanese wall designs.

There is an open-plan restaurant, a lounge bar ‘Bukhari’ and a COMO Shambhala Retreat with a traditional Bhutanese hot stone bath and body therapies including the popular COMO Shambhala Massage. Please email us for more details.
